Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Easter IV, Year C, 21 April 2013 - Running Barefoot with the Good Shepherd

These are my new running "shoes" - Bedrock Sandals from bedrocksandales.com.

Continuing the series from last week, we pick up the theme of running barefoot in the kingdom by considering Jesus as the Good Shepherd and learning from John's Gospel how to abide, love, and then bear fruit for Christ. Even in weeks like this one this is not only possible, it is what we are made for.

The Collect

O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
