Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Easter V, Year C, 28 April 2013 - Running Barefoot in the Kingdom - Choosing Step by Step to Follow God

The Perfect Solution

Running Barefoot in the Kingdom - Choosing Step by Step to Follow God

Today's sermon continues the series on being Barefoot in the Kingdom, but also steps back to look at what we have to do but have trouble doing, the need to decide and the difficulty of the transitions.

We discover that God needs to change our minds (and bodies) at some pretty profound levels, just like Peter experienced in Joppa (again).  But we have been given a beautiful picture of God's end dream for us and all creation in Revelation 21.  But we have to really get in  the game if we want to experience God's dream.

It's so simple.  God wants us to love each other, just as we have been loved.  So simple and so simple to forget.

Acts 11:1-18
Psalm 148
Revelation 21:1-6
John 13:31-35

The Collect
Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
