Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Pentecost XX, Proper 23, Year B, 14 October 2012 - How to be Great at Following Jesus even when Rich and Worship as Stewardship by Denny Meyers and Marilyn Johnson

Learning to follow Jesus when we have such riches as we do, we have to ask how it is possible to enter the Rule of God with all of our stuff. (We are reminded that if we live in America in the 20th Century we are the 1%). The answers are simple and timeless: Humility and Generosity.

*I (daniel) reference Tim Kimmel in the sermon and his Grace-Based Parenting. Here is a link to his website.

Then Marilyn Johnson and Denny Meyers talk about worship as part of our stewardship and commitment to Grace. Have you committed to regular worship as a part of your following Jesus?

Psalm 22:1-15
Hebrews 4:12-16
Mark 10:17-31

The Collect

Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
