Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

The Very Daniel P Richards proclaims the gospel according to Mark as Jesus tries to get away and teach his disciples the basics of the live and the way of discipleship. Richards notes we need to “sharpen our pencils” or get ready to deepen our study and faith preparing for the day our neighbor needs us to help during a crisis.  We need live into a real God not one of our imagination or an idealized faith but one deepened by preparation. Be a wise person and be prepared to serve.

The Collect

Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
