On being light and salt, or how God will shine through you and the sufficiency of being "spiritual but not religious." Being spiritual is an inwardly focused way of being that does not meet the call of Christ to be redeeming the world, whereas religion is the lived practice of spirituality for others and the world. One without the other is not enough. We are called to be light for the world, salt for the world. And salt makes us more of ourselves, more salty, more quirky.
