Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Pentecost 17, Proper 19, Year C, 15 September 2013 - The Discipline of the Alleluia

Sermon on the discipline of celebration. In Luke's stories of the lost and found objects there is one repeated command from Jesus, to celebrate or rejoice. This theme is pervasive in the Gospel, but is often ignored as a real discipline of the Christian life.

Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28
Psalm 14
1 Timothy 1:12-17
Luke 15:1-10

The Collect
O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
