Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Lent III, Year B, 11 March 2012 - The Dream of God: The Covenant and Cross post-Anselm

Sermon in which we are led from the Ten Commandments, past Anselm's medieval theology of the cross, to Jesus our Temple and Satisfaction, where we meet the gracious God whose dream is our coming home to be sons and daughters of God. There is no deal with God, no payment in gold or lambs, that can buy God's forgiveness, restoration, and hope.

Some terms:
*righteousness - justice or God's favor or pronouncement of innocence, rightness before a judge
*Anselm

Exodus 20:1-17
Psalm 19
1 Corinthians 1:18-25
John 2:13-22

Welcome to the Table with Announcement about the Passion Play being done at the Good Friday service instead of Palm Sunday. And you get to hear Ms. Connie Vaughn do the welcome, which is holy. We did cut the Rev.'s singing out for Happy Birthday. You're welcome. Both ways.
