Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

On Being Transfigured or Get Up and Don't Be Afraid

The people who light me up year after year are the people like the woman* I talk about here who choose after long lives or in great suffering to stand up and follow Jesus.

We are called to let our lights shine before others. Jesus is calling us to be lights in the darkness. This Lent let us seek the presence of the Living God who is with us now, being neither fearful nor clinging to some other holy time, so that we like our Lord may shine with that Light that comes from him. Let us be a city on a hill. Let us get up and not be afraid to stand before God and the world as a holy people known for their radical, self-giving love.

*The woman in my story from Phoenix is a composite of three people, but all three of them are super-Christians because they chose to follow Christ despite their other wants.
