In the life of an Episcopal parish, the official visit of the diocesan bishop is one of the high points of the life of ministry of the Church.
The
Rt Rev Whayne Hougland today visits the parish of Grace Episcopal Church in
Traverse City, Michigan for the first time as the Bishop of the Western
Michigan Diocese of the Episcopal Church. His message interweaves the life of
the Church and the gospel of John's account of Jesus teaching on being a child
of God.
Recorded
at the 1000 am worship community.

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
