Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Pilate Error - Christ the King Sunday - 22 November 2015 - Year B

Ecce homo! Antonio Ciseri's 1871 depiction of Pontius Pilate presenting Jesus to the public

The Very Rev Daniel P Richards proclaims the gospel of John in Jesus’ encounter with Pontius Pilate and Pilate’s confusion on the rule of God. Pilate makes a category error. Richards points to the prologue of John to deeply explain the difference of the rule of Jesus as the logos - the basis of all creation and relationship of God. In the face of violence in the world today, we as Christians must take a new way in love and forgiveness to stop the madness which we may lose our lives over.

Given at the 800 am worship community today.

2 Samuel 23:1-7

The Collect

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
