Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

The Rev Katheryn M King proclaims the gospel of John's telling of final instructions to the disciples and transforming them from slaves (δούλους) to friends (φίλοι). The disciple is called to love God and love neighbor with the same love that God gives to us - concrete, public, and visible in order to transform the world.

Given at the 500 pm worshiping community at Grace Episcopal Church, Traverse City, Pure Michigan, USA

The Collect

O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
