Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

The Rev. Katheryn King calls in the new liturgical year with a message from the Gospel of Mark on being impatient to experience the gift of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus words will not pass away; keep alert; keep awake.

Isaiah 64:1-9
Psalm 80:1-7, 16-18
1 Corinthians 1:3-9

Mark 13:24-37

The Collect

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

(Note: We use the Revised Common Lectionary for our readings on Sunday. At Advent, the new year of the liturgical calendar, we move to a different set of Gospel lessons. In year B, the majority of the gospel lessons will be coming from the gospel of Mark and also John. Happy New Year! We wait for the Lord!)
