Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Sunday after the Ascension, 1 June 2014 - Jesus' Graduation Speech to the Disciples

The Rev. Katheryn King is priest-in-charge while the Very Rev. Daniel Richards is on sabbatical this summer.

Pastor Katheryn likens the high priestly prayer of Jesus to the many of the graduation speeches we are hearing. Jesus is leaving final instructions to the disciples and to us.

Acts 1:6-14
Psalm 68:1-10, 33-36
1 Peter 4:12-14, 5:6-11
John 17:1-11

The Collect

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
