Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Pentecost 14, Proper 16, Year C, 25 August 2013 - Freedom from Bondage

Sermon on the Unbinding of a Daughter of Abraham and how our bonds keep us from living into the freedom of Christ and our intimacy and calling from God.   In the sermon the two passages recommended are Ephesians 3 (- 6) and Colossians 3.  They are short and powerful.

The Three Promises from the Call of Jeremiah: To be known, To be called (and God will go with you), and to have Intimacy with God.

Your call may be to be Unbound but then it may also be to help someone else be Unbound.

Jeremiah 1:4-10
Psalm 71:1-6
Hebrews 12:18-29
Luke 13:10-17

The Collect
Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
