Sermon by the Rev. Kathryn King on the Holy Spirit and Jesus in the Gospel of John. She explores the abiding of God with us in the Holy Spirit, and Christ with God, and ultimately us with God in the heart of God. She pulls together Lent and Easter and sets us up for Pentecost and the promise of peace. Not the peace that the world gives, but the peace of finding home in God and God finding a home in us.
This is preaching as weaving, creating a tapestry of these three Great Seasons of the church year to give us a theology of God's abiding.
Acts 16:9-15
Psalm 67
Revelation 21:10, 22-22:5
John 14:23-29
O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
