Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, First Lent, Year C, 17 February 2013 -- Learning to Live in the Promised Land and Temptation

Sermon on Learning to Live in the Promised Land of the Resurrection.  We are a Resurrection people, but we have to choose that Way of Life everyday by the power of the Spirit and with the teaching of the Bible.  Today's sermon looks at choosing that life over the world's offering and the temptations of Jesus as temptations we face to live according to the world's way with a religious covering.

Also included is Glenda's  testimony about how working at the Jubilee House has deepened her faith.

Deuteronomy 26:1-11
Psalm 91:1-2, 9-16
Romans 10:8b-13
Luke 4:1-13

The Collect
Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan: Come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations; and, as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
