Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Christmas Eve 9 pm, Year C, 24 December 2012 -- A Light in the Darkness

What is revealed by the Light of Christ when it comes quiet and small to the shepherds, and to Mary and Joseph, and us? What God? What world? What us?

What do we do after the wrapping and the lights are taken down with that knowing of Christmas? What do we do to respond to the God who loves us enough to come vulnerable and open handed on a night like this?

Isaiah 9:2-7
Titus 2:11-14
Luke 2:1-14(15-20)
Psalm 96

The Collect

O God, you have caused this holy night to shine with the brightness of the true Light: Grant that we, who have known the mystery of that Light on earth, may also enjoy him perfectly in heaven; where with you and the Holy Spirit he lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
