Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Advent I, Year B, 27 Nov 2011

Sermon in which the darkness is explored with the small candles of faith. The pyramid of power and the spheres of influence that make up the bueracracy of heaven (otherwise known as the principalities and powers) are pulled down by the Gospel Promise of Emmanuel, God with us. The dark night of apocalypse is both destruction and mystery. In God's coming, we face judgement but with the assurance of salvation. We still though have work to do, an Abba-reality to remember, and baptisms to perform.

Isaiah 64:1-9
Psalm 80:1-7, 16-18
1 Corinthians 1:3-9
Mark 13:24-37
