Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Proper 23, Year A, 9 Oct 2011 - Putting on the Wedding Robe

We are called to a great feast, a wedding feast, and we had better come and wear the robe that is offered. This is a tough gospel message, based in another of Matthew's Terrible Parables. The Rule of God is a place where those first invited refuse and even when God brings in everyone from the streets, the good and the bad, there is a standard. We must be willing to put on the Wedding Robe, the Mantle of Christ, and be transformed.

The Gospel reading is included before the Sermon because the Sermon spins off of it.

The other readings are included below:

Isaiah 25:1-9
Psalm 23
Philippians 4:1-9
Matthew 22:1-14
