Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Easter Sunday 10am, Year A, 2011

Easter Sunday Morning, 10 a.m., full house at Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City, Michigan. Sermon on being disciples of the Crucified God and even more of the Resurrected Christ (though you can't be one without the other) and how that ought to change the way we speak and the way we know. This is a call to live into the Resurrection through our vocation of Worship, Study, Service and Welcome. It was a good Sunday with overflow seating and loud children. Enjoy.

PS. I use Peter Rollins parable at the beginning and have to give you his two titles that I have sitting in front of me, both excellent. The Fidelity of Betrayal and How (not) to Speak of God. You have to skip over the Emergent church stuff a little in the second (really his first book) and know that he is explaining his group Ikon a bit, but very helpful and fun to read little packages of dynamite.
