Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, Epiphany II, Year A, 2011

Sermon in which the Very Rev. Daniel P. Richards calls us back to an understanding of the Atonement of Christ that is based in Passover and Covenant. Using the Gospel story of John the Baptist declaring that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, he looks at how we are to keep the Covenant extended to us in Christ through testimony and discipleship now that our sin is taken away. This calls us to live freely into our gratitude and community. I Corinthians shows us how to live in community called, as Isaiah reminds us not to save ourselves but to be salvation to the nations. But we must testify for our light to shine. So remember and tell the story of how God has set you free.
