Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Sermon, III Epiphany, Year C, 2010



One of the parishioners this morning called this a "State of the State" sermon. This is a sort of State of the Parish call to fulfill our mission as the local church. I hope that it is helpful to you, where ever you and your community are.

The sermon was delivered at our annual Unity Service and Parish Meeting. It was a very short meeting, which is due in large part to the able work of the Staff, Vestry, and Committees to provide detailed and informative reporting. We have had a great year of growth in numbers and giving, especially considering the economy, and even more in depth of spiritual growth and openness to God's call and work in us as individuals and community. The Spirit is at work here, and we are very blessed.
